We did it. We plunged in the icy Ossipee River to celebrate the elusive arrival of spring. We recovered in the toasty warmth of the wood fired sauna. We enjoyed a good hot meal. We visited with friends. And we surpassed our fundraising goal with over $20,000 raised this year. Thank you for being a part of GMCG’s annual Polar Plunge!

Many thanks to the Devilled Eggs, Tamworth Otters, Friends of Constitution Park, The Ol’ Hens, and individual plungers from towns across the watershed who fundraised and plunged to make this event GMCG’s most successful polar plunge ever.

Additional thanks to the business sponsors who provided additional support and prizes: Many thanks to Hurry Slow Hat Co. for gifting beautiful high quality hats to the top fundraising plungers, Elemental Saunas for provided an onsite woodfired sauna at the event, as well as Barley & Salt taphouse and kitchen of North Conway, Minute Man Press of North Conway, Bank of New HampshireInfinger InsuranceLeisure Time Cocktails of Portland, ME, Friends of Constitution ParkStone Mountain Arts CenterBig Dave’s Bagels, Garden Dreams, and Rotary Club of Ossipee Valley.

A final shout out goes to the Effingham and Freedom Fire Departments for providing an added layer of cold water safety precautions to help make sure folks stayed safe and had fun.

The 2025 polar plungers gather for a group photo minutes before jumping in the icy water of the Ossipee river to raise awareness for the importance of clean water and fundraise for GMCG’s watershed protection programs.
