Join Green Mountain Conservation Group for our Annual Watershed Celebration, Volunteer Appreciation Ceremony, and barbecue luncheon on the beautiful grounds of Blue Heron House along the Ossipee River in Effingham.
From noon to 3:00 p.m., enjoy burgers, hot dogs, vegetarian options, and ice cream, with guests welcome to contribute a favorite potluck dish. Rain or shine, visitors are invited to explore the river walk, pollinator garden, vernal pool, and conservation center while meeting GMCG board members, staff, AmeriCorps members, interns, and the volunteers who make our work possible.
This year’s celebration will also honor the memory of the late Tim Otterbach and the late Ron Adams, two extraordinary volunteers whose dedication to conservation and stewardship in the Ossipee Watershed touched countless lives and will be remembered with gratitude. GMCG will also dedicate and present the Annual High Watch Award to a special individual who has demonstrated extraordinary service to protecting the watershed.
This free, family-friendly event is open to everyone, and donations are graciously accepted. Outdoor games will be available for children and families, as well as nets and buckets to discover the vernal pool.
Whether you are a longtime supporter or simply curious to learn more about Green Mountain Conservation Group, we hope you will join us for an afternoon of food, fellowship, and celebration.
