GMCG Natural Area Walks
June 27 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
This summer, GMCG welcomes the public to enjoy the conservation center and interpretive trails to learn about the nature and culture of Ossipee Watershed. All trails are free to visit, although donations are graciously accepted for trail visits and programs. These areas can be visited by guests of all ages at any time for self-paced tours, or during one of our staff-led nature walks. Visitors are invited to join a leisurely nature walk at the GMCG Natural Area Friday mornings 6/27, 7/11 and 7/25 at 10 a.m. to discover native plants, trees, beaver habitat, and other natural and cultural features of the trail.
GMCG’s Natural Area trail is located on Green Mountain Road just south of the Route 25 intersection, with parking on the road shoulder. Look for the wooden steps directly off the East side road shoulder. The Natural Trail is 0.8 miles in length, featuring a small loop and two off-shoots with views of the Hodgedon Brook wetland area. The trail is well-marked in red blazes and arrow signs and features an interpretive guide highlighting natural and cultural features along the way. No RSVP necessary.
