Friday, June 26th 10:30-12:00 p.m. at 236 Huntress Bridge Road, Effingham (For ages 10 to adult). Want a different way to experience the natural world? Sketching helps you see your surroundings through a different lens. Join us during Pollinator Week as we explore ways to set up a Natural Journal and learn new ways to do easy sketches of the nature around you, focusing on GMCG’s pollinator garden.

No drawing experience is necessary. Materials needed: A sketch pad or journal, drawing pencil (4B if you have one), eraser, colored pencils (if you have them), gel pen. If none of these are available, not to worry. Just bring a regular pencil. You can always craft a homemade journal. Just in case, we will have some extra homemade journals here.

Barbara Bald taught science to sixth-grade students in Gilford for 22 years, has worked with GMCG conducting macroinvertebrate sampling, and helped facilitate the Sense of Place program for second graders in schools in Maine. She loves sharing time with others who love the outdoors and enjoys showing them how to capture the magic of moments by melding all those passions together. Barb lives with her cat Fiesta in the woods of Alton.
