GMCG is proud to be partnering with the Lakes Region Conservation Corps as an AmeriCorps host site, currently hosting two full term members and two half term members.

AmeriCorps is a voluntary civil society program supported by the U.S. federal government, foundations, corporations, and other donors engaging adults in public service work with a goal of “helping others and meeting critical needs in the community.” Members commit to full-time or part-time positions offered by a network of nonprofit community organizations and public agencies, to fulfill assignments in the fields of education, public safety, health care, and environmental protection. The program is often seen as a domestic Peace Corps. It employs more than 75,000 Americans in intensive service each year. AmeriCorps is an initiative of the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS). It was created under President Bill Clinton by the National and Community Service Trust Act of 1993.

Meet the 2025 GMCG AmeriCorps members!

Mackenzie Sirrine
Mackenzie SirrineAmeriCorps Member Education and Outreach Assistant
Hi there! My name is Mackenzie Sirrine and I’m from Raymond, New Hampshire. I’m a recent graduate from UNH with a degree in Environmental Conservation and Sustainability, where I focused my studies in forestry. I love working with kids and have spent a lot of time involved with school programs and outdoor camps. In the future, I hope to combine my passion for science and childcare by working as an outdoor educator. That’s why I’m so excited to be joining the GMCG and collaborate with the education and outreach team! In my spare time between adventures I enjoy crafts, baking, and watching movies.
Emma Revenaugh
Emma RevenaughAmeriCorps Member Water Quality Resources Assistant
Hello! My name is Emma, and I am originally from St. Paul, Minnesota, and recently got my BA in Geology from Colorado College. I spent the past several months working on water quality projects in the Gallatin and Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone Rivers in southwest Montana, as a field scientist for the MT Department of Environmental Quality. Outside of scientific work, I grew up spending quality time in the outdoors, backpacking everywhere from the Rockies to the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska and paddling in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness of northern Minnesota, where I also had the privilege of guiding expeditions for local teens in the wilderness for three summers. These experiences have underscored for me the importance of preserving ecologically and culturally significant watersheds, and have provided me with a love for youth work and citizen science. At GMCG, I look forward to being on the front lines of assessing and addressing water quality concerns in the Ossipee River area, and to working with young folks and volunteers to empower and encourage them in defending the waterways they hold dear. And naturally, I look forward to running, skiing, cooking, and knitting around town!
